Now lets hope they all decide to honor our permits. I sent the link to http://www.handgunlaw.us/ so they could work
on updating their site.

I believe that a good number of the states mentioned contain wording in their laws that state they honor permits from states that honor theirs. Two stated that
I visited this year, Colorado and North Carolina, had this language. The AG's letter should automatically bring us into compliance with those states.

I wonder how much afterwork will be out into this to try and keep up the database (adding more states if they up their requirements)

Iowa cannot honor any other states permit, there state laws do not allow it.
Colorado needs to add Nebraska to their list of recognized permits now. (they have been contacted) |

By default our permits are now valid in Colorado.
Here is the law: Pursuant to Colorado law (CRS 18-12-213), the State of Colorado will recognize a valid permit issued in another state IF the permit was issued to a resident of the state issuing the permit, and the permittee is 21 yrs of age or older, AND the other state recognizes Colorado permits as valid in their state. |

Way to go, Nebraska. This is good news. We get to the Great State at least every other year to visit relatives. I'll be contacting the Ohio Attorney
General about implementing full reciprocity between our two states.

I wonder what the problem is with South Dakota. I guess I will have to look that up. Other than that this is good news.

I've been reading through the NE statutes and I'm failing to see anything that states that a Nebraska resident has to have a Nebraska permit to carry.
Now that multiple states have been recognized and non-resident permits from recognized states are kosher, it appears to me that a NE resident could get a recognized out of state permit and be good to go. Unintended consequences? I'm confident that someone will find what I am missing in the statutes........ |

Read section 6 of lb430:
[edit] I guess it is section 13 of the final slip copy of the law[/edit] "A valid license or permit to carry a concealed 5 handgun issued by any other state or the District of Columbia shall 6 be recognized as valid in this state under the Concealed Handgun 7 Permit Act if (1) the holder of the license or permit is not a 8 resident of Nebraska and (2) the Attorney General has determined 9 that the standards for issuance of such license or permit by such 10 state or the District of Columbia are equal to or greater than the 11 standards imposed by the act. The Attorney General shall maintain 12 and publish a list of such states and the District of Columbia 13 which he or she has determined have standards equal to or greater 14 than the standards imposed by the act." emphasis mine N0ZXR
