OMAHA, Neb. (AP) - A Nebraska man has been sentenced to probation and fined for selling more than 1,500 firearms without a license.
The U.S. attorney for Nebraska said Tuesday that Kenneth Schliesman of Bellevue was convicted of selling firearms without a license for 10 years.
The 73-year-old received five years' probation and was ordered to pay $60,000 within 90 days. The judge also ordered Schliesman to forfeit the 140 firearms taken from his home by federal agents.
Schliesman terminated his federal license in 1996 but continued to sell firearms, mostly at gun shows.
Schliesman primarily sold vintage rifles from World War II and earlier.
Records show he grossed more than a million dollars in unlicensed sales.
