Got pulled over for making a right turn on red in Lincoln. Immediately informed the officer of my carry status as required to do. I was nervous so I said something idiotic i'm sure, along the lines of 'officer, I am a concealed weapon carry permit holder. She asked if I was carrying at this time (yes), and where the firearm is (on my back). She asked me not to make any sudden moves or reach for it. The officer (cute blonde) gave me the 3rd degree about not seeing the sign, how dangerous the intersection was, etc. Proceeded to write me a ticket for the illegal turn (69$!). As we got done she asked me what kind of firearm I was carrying. (took me a second and i did kind of a double-take before I told her) Also asked me how long i'd been carrying, how much I practiced with the gun, and what kind of round I had in the gun. She then thanked me and I went on my way.
Just struck me as odd she took such an (informal, I think) interest in my carry status. Wondered if any of you have had a similar stop where the officer gave you some extra (irrelevant) questioning as to your firearm?
