I do not own, nor do I support the ownership of, potentially dangerous dogs such as pit bulls and rottweilers. However, I am strongly opposed to city ordinances prohibiting the ownership of otherwise legal items. That being said, Osceola has just banned "vicious" dogs and anyone currently owning one of these animals has 48 hours to get rid of it. Although there is no Constitutional right to protect such animals, this is only a small step away from prohibiting other dangerous items, such as firearms.
