Posts: 10 (05/24/08 10:24:56) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	I have not seen that sign at 114th and Dodge and I've been carrying in that store for weeks now but I did stop at the Bag n Sav at Blondo and 148th last night and, while approaching the door, looked for the common slashed circle sign but didn't see it. I did notice something like the sign Phil mentioned but it was well below eye level so I paid it little attention and breezed right in with my G20 under my jacket. On the way out I stopped to get a better look and it says something like, "carrying concealed weapons in the store or the parking lot is forbidden." Bag N Sav at 114th used to have the standard sign right at eye-level as recommended by the NSP but now they have removed that and, according to Phil, replaced it with an inconspicuous sign that purports to do something Ram says they're not allowed to do. Here's what I think: Bag N Sav is trying to have it both ways. They post a sign that offers comfort to the anti-gun, pro-victimization liberals while at the same time trying to let permit holders know that since the sign doesn't meet the legal standards, it's really ok to carry - just keep it on the DL.

Posts: 11 (05/28/08 00:15:12) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	Okay, you really have to look for the sign but it's there, not on the glass entry door but on the window to the right, just above the garbage receptacle and certainly well beneath what almost any adult would consider to be eye level. I went to their website and filled out their "tell us about your experience at our store" form and explained that until I was welcome to legally carry my concealed weapon in their store they could consider me a Baker's or Hy-Vee shopper.

They have printing in LARGE letters over the door that say 'ALL FIREARMS MUST BE CASED, NO EXCEPTIONS". Anyone bother to ask about that? The Bullet Hole sign says cased or holstered.

One was pretty big(9"x11") , the other smaller(5"x7"), both near eye level. I knew where it was, and normall skip the place but I needed to get some stamps real quick and it was gone. At least from the west entrance doors it was. It used to be on the right side of them.

Do not go to the firearm counter and say "I have this gun to trade, let me get it out from my ass crack and unload it." Reminder BH and Cabela's are in LaVista where concealed carry is unlawful. Do so at your own risk.

Will not even allow a firearm in your personal vehicle. If you have one in the car, you must park off their property. Given the recent Attorney General's opinion, I wonder if OPPD, a political subdivision of the State of Nebraska, can ban the possession of firearms in a personal vehicle when the State Law says specifically that I CAN have the weapon in my vehicle if I am a CC Permit holder. Even the law regarding firearms on school property makes an exception for weapons belonging to non-students that are unloaded and cased within the vehicle. Any comments?

This aspect of the law was specific... posted places must allow CHP holders to keep concealed handguns in the parking lot as long as they are not removed from the vehicle 2) If a person, persons, entity, or entities in control of the property or an employer in control of the property prohibits a permitholder from carrying a concealed handgun into or onto the place or premises and such place or premises are open to the public, a permitholder does not violate this section unless the person, persons, entity, or entities in control of the property or employer in control of the property has posted conspicuous notice that carrying a concealed handgun is prohibited in or on the place or premises or has made a request, directly or through an authorized representative or management personnel, that the permitholder remove the concealed handgun from the place or premises. A permitholder carrying a concealed handgun in a vehicle into or onto any place or premises does not violate this section so long as the handgun is not removed from the vehicle while the vehicle is in or on the place or premises. An employer may prohibit employees or other persons who are permitholders from carrying concealed handguns in vehicles owned by the employer. LJUnaTIC

We had to sign some paper (or no job) to allow them to search are vehicles if wanted. To my knowledge this never did happen. Another note of interest is the no firearms allowed on school property, zero. No put in lock box, no place in trunk. What a crock of bull. I pickup my good friends daughters from school once or twice a week so he can continue to work. I am just a criminal I guess.

(1) Any person who possesses a firearm in a school, on school grounds, in a school-owned vehicle, or at a school-sponsored activity or athletic event shall be guilty of the offense of unlawful possession of a firearm on school grounds. Unlawful possession of a firearm on school grounds is a Class II misdemeanor. This subsection shall not apply to (a) the issuance of firearms to or possession by members of the armed forces of the United States, active or reserve, National Guard of this state, or Reserve Officers Training Corps or peace officers or other duly authorized law enforcement officers when on duty or training, (b) firearms which may lawfully be possessed by the person receiving instruction, for instruction under the immediate supervision of an adult instructor, or (c) firearms contained within a private vehicle operated by a nonstudent adult which are not loaded and (i) are encased or (ii) are in a locked firearm rack that is on a motor vehicle. For purposes of this subsection, encased shall mean enclosed in a case that is expressly made for the purpose of containing a firearm and that is completely zipped, snapped, buckled, tied, or otherwise fastened with no part of the firearm exposed. I believe that based on this statute, you may have a firearm, including a handgun, on school property.

I'm sorry to say I never got to see if the things I heard about your store were true, as I never got past the front entrance. You can count me out as one less potential customer. Needless to say, this is definitely a step in the right direction. I have confirmed that they did indeed remove the signs from their stores. I was actually able to walk inside one today.
