The Fremont Applebee's now has a sign in its window advising No Concealed Weapons.

they likely sell too much alcohol, and thus must be a no CCW area.
but then the question is, are they posting a sign to keep patrons from accidentally breaking the law, or are they doing it to disagree with the legal right to CCW? because the latter would be worth telling Applebee's to go suck an egg, while the former is just a courtesy. |

Even though their drinks are horrendously overpriced, I can't imagine any way they make 51% of their profits from the hootch.
This is just a bad management decision. |

Gotcha. I thought maybe it was like Brewski's in Lincoln, that posted a sign even though they already a no-carry zone due to the alcohol stipulation.
I guess we drink too much when we go to Applebee's |

I was there last night, and looked for a sign, but did not see one. There was a no smoking sign. Maybe they got some pressure?

Thanks to the efforts of people like Jed, Applebee's management (in Omaha at least) relaized that anti-CCW was a bad idea and took the signs down. This happened about... oh... 3-4 months ago? Fremont's Applebee's may be owned by the same management company.

That must be the case, as I had left my weapon in the car in anticipation of finding the sign there, so I went back and got it!

The Trade'N'Post pawn shop in Fremont is currently posted. (1/19/08 )
The ridiculous thing is that they sell new and used firearms. When I asked about the signs (there are several) in the window, two of the employees ignored me. One replied: "Oh that must be somebody's idea of a joke." The address: Trade 'N' Post 735 W 23rd St Fremont, NE 68025 sab |

Heck, the Tradin' Post is the only gun shop I've ever been in that I feel the NEED to carry.

Maybe I'm just a snooty person but I don't consider pawn shops as gun shops. They are sleazy businesses that happen to sell firearms. I may be completely wrong but it's my guess that a large amount of their gun acquisitions and sales aren't 100% legal.

No dispute from me on either account.

Call me snooty too. I think Pawn shops are dirty and nasty. I certainly don't think of them as a gun store either.

I've purchased a couple guns at the Tradin' Post. The owner is actually a fairly nice guy, however it's still a pawn shop.
I'll try to talk with him a bit after the Fremont gun show coming up in Feb. and see what the deal is. |

Trade n Post | ||

I have bought about 90% of my arms from arms and ammo and urge any and all to do the same. I have not bought any from Trade n Post but know a few people that
have and were very satified so you can make up your own mind. As for the no carry signs anywhere if they don't let me carry they don't get my money,
simple as that.
