A fine time to query your Nebraska State Senator (and most anyone aspiring to that post!) about Shooty-Related Legislation. I was at the Nemaha County Fair last night, and ran into Lavon Heidemann (district 1). He sounded like he was on our side, noting that he was the 25th yes vote on lb454, skipping a family funeral to be there for the vote. He also noted (somewhat gleefully) that Ashford was PISSED that his lb958 failed....... and hinted that there was talk of Ashford switching committees........ He did not know who would sponsor pre-emption, but if someone did, he would support it.

While I'm appreciative that he did vote for LB 454, I have also taken note that he is often absent when voting time comes for firearms issues, and a quick look back at the last issue, LB 958, he was present BUT DID NOT VOTE. If it wasn't for alot of pressure from consitituents, I don't think he would vote in the positive for us on any firearms issues. He is a nice guy, but he pretty much told me that firearms issues aren't important to him. I met with Sen. Christianson's office a few months ago, Pre-emption isn't what is needed they told me, basically the cities, towns and villages need to have their power to regulate Concealed weapons removed. Sounds like Christenson is going to introduce a bill to clean up many issues with the CHP program. www.neccwtraining.com www.neccw.blogspot.com

There's nothing I'd like to see more than to see all these tinhorn tiny town bureaucrats get their comeupance. Fed up with their attitudes I am. People who object to weapons aren't abolishing violence, they're begging for rule by brute force, when the biggest, strongest animals among men were always automatically 'right.' Posts: 746 (08/06/08 23:47:21) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	I talked to Dave Pankonin tonight at the Cass County fair, thanking him for his vote on 958. He related to me that he thought 958 was a bad idea, before or after amended: it was a permanent committee that could couse problems for gun owners at any time in the future. I also asked him about reciprocity and pre-emption. He said he thought reciprocity should be an administrative issue, not a legislative issue, but would refer the question to his legislative assistant, Cheri Somethingorother, to see what might be done. On Pre-emption, he said that all local law enforcement would probably fight it, but agreed that it was unfair for permit holders to be expected to know the laws of every village they pass through. He would pass this onto Cheri, too............. and here I thought I voted for Dave, and this Cheri person is writing his stuff............. He took my E-mail address and promised to get back with me. On a related note: the Cass County Democrat booth was very busy............ it looks ill for those of us clingin' to our guns and Religion come November.................
