Everyone else okay?
Here's how Aurora is doing: http://www.auroranewsregister.com/Archives/Tornado1SS/tabid/2123/Default.aspx
It's not as bad as it looks for most people.

Mrs. strat81 and I are doing okay... some of our town is not. Aurora got a few nasty hits, plenty of downed trees, etc.

I've friends in both Kearney and Aurora mentioning witnesses seeing storm cells producing funnels passing over their locations/streets. Damned lucky and
fortunate Nebraska not being mentioned in the national press. I thank the gods my friends and other Nebraskans spared too much sorrow.

Had about 4' of roaring water ripping through town about a block south of the house last night about 1130 PM. Blacktop ripped up into chunks and debris
all over the main drag through town. Highway 81 to Columbus still closed as of today. Got about 2.5" of rain last night total. Tornado spotted on radar
5 miles from home about 8PM. Fire truck stuck in the mud about a block from the house last night too. Railroad tracks washed out in several places. 30
homes and 10 businesses were flooded.
Quite a night. Hoping to get a full night's sleep tonight.
People who object to weapons aren't abolishing violence, they're begging for rule by brute force, when the biggest, strongest animals among men were
always automatically 'right.' Guns ended that, and social democracy is a hollow farce without an armed populace to make it work. -- L. Neil Smith, The
Probability Broach

Lots of rain here in Syracuse. Some patio furniture didn't survive.
Nothing like having a scared 95# German Shepard sleeping on top of my head all night! |
